Janice Varuna and Julie will be delivering this workshop which will allow you to delve deeper into the practice and process of Yoga Nidra. Using meditation as a guide, we will experience with awareness the before and after affects of the Yoga Nidra in bringing about a different level of calmness, healing and relaxation to the body and mind.
Yoga nidra is an ancient yogic practice bringing the yogi into a state of conscious deep sleep. One appears to be sleeping but the unconscious mind is functioning at a deeper level: it is a yogic sleep with a trace of deep awareness. In normal sleep we lose track of our self but in yoga nidra, while consciousness of the world is dim and relaxation is deep, there remains an inward lucidity and experiences may be absorbed to be recalled later. Since yoga nidra involves effortless relaxation it allows a rest and recharge seldom available in our busy lifestyles.
