I believe that our ability to connect and be present in our bodies is extremely powerful. I have spent a lot of time moving my body in a fitness capacity, learning about the mind from a Buddhist perspective, and through my training as an RMT, dove deeply into the anatomy and physiology of our physical selves. All of this was deeply beneficial, but the thing that really transformed the way I live and brought it all together was yoga. Yoga is learning to move and be present in the physical body, it is learning about the breath and how changing our breath can change everything, and it is learning to pay attention to the mind and know we are not our thoughts; yoga is understanding what it means to be a human living in this complex world. No matter what brings you to the practice, yoga meets you where you are and opens up the possibility for transformation.
Under the mentorship of some amazing teachers, I completed my 500 hour certification with additional training in meditation, yin, restorative yoga, vinyasa, embodied yoga, functional yoga and yoga nidra. I designed and taught Asana Labs as part of Empower Me Yoga’s teacher training and continue to enjoy being a student of yoga.
