Yoga Warriors is dedicated to active duty military personnel, veterans, responders and their families, and others who have experienced PTSD, trauma, or who live with anxiety and depression. A Yoga Warriors class is a modified Hatha practice specifically designed to promote healing. Positive affirmations paired with postures address the autonomic nervous system, increasing relaxation. Benefits of Yoga Warriors Classes can include: Lowered state and trait anxiety, improved anger management skills, and increased self-calming ability. The use of props assists in promoting improved proprioception. Furthermore, YW helps participants recognize and safely release emotions without judgment. Participants strengthen ability to remain in the present by reconnecting mind to body.
For Everyone! The goal with this specialty class is to support and assist individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, and stress.
Judy began practicing yoga over 13 years ago and became a RYT with the Yoga Alliance in 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. She has continued to enhance her tools for teaching by undergoing further training from persons such as Jill Miller (The Roll Model and Core Integration, etc.), Hart Lazer, Rodney Yee, Cindy Lee, Sadie Nardini, Seane Corn and numerous others.
The intent of her classes is to help others to feel more alive, radiant and revived, from head to toe and from inside-out. She encourages students to approach yoga with an open mind, an open heart, patience, and a sense of humour. Her classes incorporates a flow with breath and movement, helping to build strength, flexibility and concentration. She focuses on anatomical considerations, often including the work on fascia through ball therapy.
Judy is also a certified Yoga Warriors teacher – a practice uniquely designed for persons suffering or having suffered from trauma and/or PTSD.
