Hips and low back: November 25 – 12:30 – 2:30 PM Strategic placement of yoga props will support the hips while gently using gravity in a friendly manner to stretch muscles and connective tissue. Seated and reclining poses will help improve hip flexibility and mobility, while helping to eliminate the tightness in the lower back.
Being Peaceful: December 16 – 12:30 – 2:30 PM This practice is designed to still and quiet the mind and instill a calm and steadiness throughout. The sequence will combat holiday stress, physical fatigue, and mental exhaustion.
Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing style of Yoga and is directed towards students who are looking for a softer and more supportive practice or those who need a very gentle practice due to injury, stress or illness.
A restorative yoga practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind. It’s all about slowing down, relaxing and resting. It is a practice of deliberate stillness and requires no muscular effort.
Join Dawn-Marie for these peaceful classes that will slowly move your body in all directions while being fully supported with the right props. Rest quietly in poses accompanied by eye pillows and soft music and surrender into deep relaxation. This class is deeply nurturing and appropriate for everyone.
Students are always encouraged to listen to their body and/or ask for modifications where necessary.
